Angelique:
Neither Abram nor Augusta show up in my published "Deaths Reported by the
Long Islander" 1878-1890" nor in the unpublished 1891-1900 database. So far,
neither shows in the cross-index for 1891-1900; I'm up to SH- in the
cross-indexing. Since they were both born in ca. 1840's, either or both
could have easily lived into the 1910's or the 1920's.
I do have a George Church, d. 22 July 1886, age 40 years 6 mos., at Sunk
Meadow [Sunken Meadow] but the citation gives nothing else of genealogical
value. Since 40 in 1886 suggests born ca. 1846, is this George a son of
"your" George ? A Nancy Church, age 45, died 11 January 1890 at Fresh Pond.
Also a Franklin P. Church, son of Franklin & Susie, d. at Huntington, 9
September 1880, age 1 month.
The only Church I have 1891-1900, was Louis K. who died in Juneau, Alaska.
He was a former resident of Hicksville & a "well known" Queens County
lawyer. Preseident Grover Cleveland appointed him as territorial governor of
Dakota Territory. He was the last governor of the united territory & served
until 1889, when the territory was divided for statehood into South & North.
It didn't say what he was doing in Alaska. This is from the 11 December 1897
paper, Hicksville column.
Nobody named Church so far in the cross-index.

David

> Do any of you Ketcham researchers out there know the maiden name of Abram
Ketcham's wife Augusta?

> I found this family on the 1870 census of Smithtown living right beside my
George and Ann Church. They had a daughter called Augusta so I wondered if
it is possible that she married Abram?
