To anyone wanting to know...................I sent this after being stuck
it what I thought was a terrorist trap, cops everywhere, wondering
why?
HI, I am a West Islip resident, and was wondering.......last week,
we saw a film crew down at the manor and they also were using
the Gardner's Park lot for the film crew, we also were behind
them one day making their way to Robert Mosses Park. What
film were they making, and how much did it cost them to
use the old manor? We waited to see if it showed up on any
on 12 news, but nothing The following is from the Historical
Society:
Actually it was in last week's Islip Bulletin and Suffolk County News. The
film was "The Birth" and a wedding reception scene was filmed at Sagtikos
Manor starring Nicole Kidman, Lauren Bacall and Anne Heche. The film company
paid $2,000 for the use of Sagtikos Manor. They only released information
to the local paper, they didn't want a big media frenzy on site.
I am a resident, there was many problems purchasing this house....I
think that they got away tooooo cheap................it is now in the hands
of the Historical Society of Suffolk. thanks to my leg. Angie Carpenter.
I think Hollwood could have paid more, you know that Geroge
Washington slept there.........
Wish I knew more then.....have many articles, but that was before
they (Gardiner's) sold. I would like to get on this committee...will
try before summer....it's hard, I am a transplant from CA, been
here 20 years, and just finding my mother's roots where one of
the first settlers here on Long Island. what a summer job!
