I descend from late 1600s/early 1700s Carll-Platt connections Suffolk Co NY. My line includes a Treadwell Scudder CARLL b1796 Huntington. Interested learning where the name 'Treadwell' came from. Have seen refs to 'Tredwell' families on Long Island but no known conn my Carll.
