Joel Wood born 1807married Esther Howell born 04 Jun 1812...they had children:
....George S. Wood (gr-gr-grandfather) born 1836
....Mary Elizabeth born about 1841
....Henry H. born about 1843

in the 1850 census this family is living in Southold where Joel Wood 45 born NY is a farmer
....Esther 39 born NY
....George 14 born NY
....Mary E. 11 born NY
....Henry H. 7 born Ny

In 1870 census Cutchogue, Suffolk, NY

Joel and Esther are farming and Henry H. with wife Ellen are farming with them.

In 1880 census Cutchogue, Suffolk, NY Joel and Esther are living alone, retired while Henry H. and family are living nearby.

George S. Wood married Emily A. Worth born 1838 to John Worth and they can be found living near John in 1860 Census.
George and Emily had children:
....Mary C. born 1862 m. Filmore Dayton
....Adelaide Estelle born 1864 m. David B. Dayton in 1884
(they are my great grandparents.)
....Lottie May born 1873 can be found umarried and living with a widowed George S. Wood in Southold in the 1900 census.

Does anyone know how this family is connected to the Richard Wood who is also living in Cutchogue at that time and/or who the parents of Joel Wood are? I know that Esther Howell Wood is the daughter of Obadiah Wells and Johanna Downs Wells.

Any leads would be greatly appreciated.
