The earliest event I can document is in Southold in 1739 when John White married Bathsheba Corwin. The only other White's in Southold at that time are a Thomas and Hannah (Curtis) White that married there in 1716. I can't find anything proving whether our John White is descended from Tom and Hannah. On the plus side John has a brother named Thomas and a sister named Hannah. On the minus side John's marriage license lists him as a John White, Jr.

Extensive efforts to trace the origins of the Thomas White mentioned above came up negative.
