Peggie, I was born in Corning and live in Waverly. I knew a boy named Bill (I think) Lott in high school in Corning. The other names I don't recognize. Rita

Hi Rite-
What town in NY are you from? I have family in (Lott,Ackles, Roy) Spencer
and Corning and my Dad was born in Van Etten/or actually Town of
Barton:<)His mother came up from Monroe in Orange County and his father was
born in Tioga County, grandfather born in Providence, RI, ggf born in NYC
[we think, but can't prove]! Great great gf Abraham G Lott was married in
Johnston, RI to Mary Chillson, daughter of Reuben Chillson the Rev War vet.
The marriage announcement in the newspaper says Abraham was "of New York"
and she was of Johnston, RI.
In 1806, the papers usually stated the town/city as opposed to the state, so
I am taking a leap of faith to say he was probably from NYC-as opposed to
Brooklyn which is what some family members thought in the 1950s. Who knows?
Not me and I've been looking since 1954 for his parents, so if I ever find
them, you'll hear a whoop and holler from Oregon!
Peggie Lott Longwell
