Subject: Irish aancestor in Ulster and Greene Counties, NY

I have an ancestor, Michael Dunagan, who first shows up in the Hunter,
Greene County, NY census in 1830 and moved to Olive, Ulster County just
before 1850.

He was born in Ireland in about 1804 and married Ellen from New York.

There weren't too many Dunagan's in these early census records, but In a
search through later census records in Greene and Ulster, I find a lot more
Dunagan's arrived in the potato famine period (1845 - 1855).

I have never uncovered one clue as to where Michael Dunagan originated in
Ireland, thus I am expanding my search a bit. Is anyone on this list
looking into the Dunagan name and does anyone know where their later
arriving Dunagan's came from?

Gary
