Barbara Smith Buys was a top-notch genealogist, a wonderful mother and a
great person.
She "took me on" years ago, when I was just a new mother myself, complete
with my JONES family mysteries and managed to find me my first Mayflower
connection through the Howes family.
She was as excited, if not more so, than I was at the time!
I enjoyed corresponding with her and she added tremendously to my knowledge
of the areas we worked in and was always very encouraging and helpful. I
learned a lot from her.
I often think of Barbara while plugging away at my SMITH side of the family
(around Madison County, NY, among other places) and always wonder if there
might be a connection to her Smiths somewhere en route, too.
I'm sure she helped many people over the years.
Thank you,
Wendy Jones de Geofroy
