Yes...my mother and al those who lived in that area were very disappointed
when they removed streets for that development. Your grandparents probably
enjoyed Webers Bakery...although it was on Riverdale Ave the residents of
Clinton St were regullars there as well as Finkelsteins Grocery on the
corner that sold butter by the pound fresh out of a barrel..and pickels too!
Holbacks 44 Club was the local watering hole....

Where in St Josephs is your Hamilton buried? The mystery of the Hamilton
headstone which rests on the Parliament plot sits between Parliament and
Sandstrom.

Hi Johnna:
Thanks for answering.
I have one Yonkers Hamilton in my line. He was Tom Hamilton, b. in
Killimer,Clare, Ireland, son of John & Margaret (Mulqueen) Hamiliton. He
died in Yonkers Nov, 1946. He is buried in Saint Josephs'. He was my
gr-grandfather Sinon Mulqueens' first cousin.

So, no wonder I could not find Clinton Street when I search for it last
summer! It is not there anymore! Same thing happened when I wanted to show
my
daughter where my father grew up on Ingram Street and it too was gone....
And
I sit scratching my head and she looks at me sympathetically saying sure
Mom,
it's OK, I'm sure it was here sometime....:)
I really hate it when they do that!
And yes, I think there was one Fornabaio family in insurance, but they may
have changed the spelling to Fornaby , or something like that, but I do not
think I am related to them, but you never know!
I am interested in finding the death record for Phillip Fornabaio. He was
supposed to have died at a very young age sometime between 1898-1904.
Yonkers
says 'no record found'. I hate that!
Thanks
Sarah
