Nancy, thanks so much for your reply. Joseph and Lillian (Lena) Kramer lived
in Mt. Vernon as early as 1937 and left or died in the early 1960"s. They
had a store "Kramer's Stationary Store" a school supply and candy store at
470 S. 5th Avenue, on the corner of Sandford Blvd., close to School #4, they
renamed Nathan Hale School, and the renamed Cecil H. Parker Elem. They lived
on Park Ave and at 11 Williams St. A researcher in Mt. Vernon found out this
info for me. Joseph was Jewish, but I have been unable to find any records
in synagogues. I have checked with the funeral homes and the cemetaries but
I have not found anything. I have checked to see if they owned the 2 places
they lived but apparently not according to town records. I think they had
children but have no info. Joseph was my grandfather's brother, of course,
assuming I have they right Joseph, but I do think I do. If you have any
advice for me I would so grateful. Again, thank you. Kay
