Thanks, Lilly.

I too have been corresponding with Bill and Raymona for many years. He and
I are cousins thru the BROUWER line back to the immigrant Adam . I have no
(bloodline) connection to the Bogardus line because I descend thru Pieter.

I have heard about the famous (infamous??) lawsuit but have no personal
interest in it.

Maureen

Dear Maureen,
You are correct. Mr. Bogardus does not use email as a medium of
communication, he prefers regular mail, postal service.

For those of you who want to write him, he does read his mail and he does
answer letters, please be kind enough to send a self-addressed and stamped
envelope for your reply.

The website was not done by him, but was definately his work and name,
address, etc. I have visited that website many times, because it has a
great section written by him, called Frequent Errors, which goes through all
the Wrong genealogies that have been copied by so many over the years,
especially in an effort to participate in the 200 yr lawsuit against Trinity
Church Corporation. I have read that section about 10 times, and learned
alot about the WRONG/false genealogies. Sometimes learning about the phoney
genealogies is as good as learning about the true ones, because it can tip
you off at the start that it is a phoney dead end alley, manufactured by
some of the lawyers/genealogists in the past. In an effort to defraud.

This was the url I used:
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~ghosthunter/Anneke/page0.htm

That should be the MAIN page, and from there you can navigate to other pages
of his work.

As you know, sometimes pages get updated or moved, and if by chance this url
has changed, please go to www.google.com and do a search on:
Anneke Jans and Everardus Bogardus Descendants Association
or:
Dear Cousins by William Bogardus

Either of those searches should take you to a current info of cost and list
of what can be order directly from Mr. Bogardus.

My connection to his work is the BROUWER/Brower name in New York, because
one of the sons of Adam Brouwer, the immigrant, was Jacobus Brouwer who
married Anna Bogardus, the grandaughter of Anneke Jans. Thus making the
descendants of Jacobus Brouwer entitled to participate in the law suit
against Trinity Church Corp, NY, NY. Because of that fact it made many
Brower families in USA determined to connect back to Jacobus Brouwer,
whether it was a TRUE connection, of a phoney/manufactured descendancy
chart.

My own Brower family did produce one of those phoney charts, in 1868, and it
is archived at the Manuscripts division of NYPL. I like to think well of my
ancestors, and I like to say that they did not truely know they were lying,
out and out, but they did have a similar story which involved loosing a huge
valuable estate in Manhatttan, and they confused their own true story with
the Anneke Jans story, which does not connect to my Brower family.

Mr. Bogardus has been a huge supporter of my personal work for many years
and he agrees with my research on my personal line.

Best regards,
Lilly Martin (Brower research)
