DEar Maureeen,
You wouldn't happen to know which were the FIRST Brouwer families to settle
in Sleepy Hollow-Philipsburgh area?

As I recall, your line of Pieter, s/o Adam went to Albany, then New Jersey.

My line was Abraham, s/o Adam, who remained at the Mill in Brooklyn.

Was it Matthys, s/o Adam who went to Westchester Co first? I believe that
Matthys was the FIRST and only son of Adam the immigrant to have gone to
Westchester Co at the earliest of time frames.

I was hoping someone would have the Mackenzie paper of the Brouwer-Brower
family who settled there early. I wanted to confirm that my own 'idea' was
the same as Mackenzie's work listed.

I am thinking it was ONE family only which was the first there, during the
Philipse Manor time period.

My own Brower line was Brooklyn, to NYC, to NJ and then to OHIO as of 1813
and further WEST from there. My own line does noy connect to the famous
lawsuit either, but because my line had a similar loss of estate in
Manhattan, my family mistakenly thought we were connected.
Best regards,
Lilly Martin
