The Gisborne sitting of the Land Court at Makaraka is progressing satisfactorily. The case of the Tuahu Block is concluded.

Napier Election - Vacant seat for the House of Representatives.

J.C. M'VAY propossed Frederick SUTTON. 2nd Mr WELLWOOD.
W. THOMAS propossed by William COLENSO. 2nd T. MOORE
W. VILLERS propossed John BUCHANAN. 2nd B. WARNES
Mr KNIGHT propossed Joseph RHODES. 2nd. Mr BUCHANAN
Mr SHEEHAN propossed Henry Charles WILSON. 2nd Mr SAINSBURY.
Mr WILSON, begged to decline the honour, and his nomination was withdrawn.
The Returning Officer ( R. BEETHAM Esq ) then took a show of hands and declared that Mr SUTTON had the majority.
