Dear Shirley,

Thank you for your assistance on this item. I will certainly use your
recommendation to look up Loyalist settlements and see what I can find.

Someone else who had the book did the look-up but did not find my family.

I am beginning to think that they may have been pacifisits as they didn't
seem to be involved in fighting on either side. They are also all extremely
pious Wesleyan Methodists.

I wonder if they felt they should not apply for a grant, as they seemed to
have enough money to be buying land in NB in1788.
