At the request of a listmember, here is the text of the will:

JOHN O'BANNON, 1785-1851, son of Bryant and Ruth Burgess O'Bannon.

I, John O'Bannon.....(etc)....

I give and bequeath to my beloved wife ELIZABETH O'BANNON, 101 1/4 acres of
land being lot No. 130 in the Fourth District of Wilkinson County, it being
the east half of said lot of land and 50 acres of land, lying and being in
the Fourth District of Wilkinson County, being part of the Gray lot and
northeastern corner of said lot; all my household furniture and one Negro
man, named Jim, one Negro woman named Manda and her two children Susan and
Tom. One yellow boy named Bryant until he is 21 years old; one Negro girl
named Isabel; one two-horse wagon and two mules. She is to have the choice
out of all of the mules; one gray mare and buggy, plantation tools and as
many of them as she may want; 400 bushels of corn, five stacks of fodder,
2000 pounds of pork; four cows and calves and 10 head of stock cattle. Two
sows and pigs. She to have the choice of the whole stock of cows and hogs;
10 bushels of seed peas, 15 bushels of oats; 50 pounds of coffee, 50 pounds
of sugar, one barrel of flour, 15 gallons molasses and all the crop of
potatoes and all the poultry on the plantation. Nothing to be moved until
she is properly situated on her land.

The balance of my property, both real and personal, to be sold and equally
divided between my four children, namely: WILLIAM O'BANNON (married Mary E.
Hall), SARAH LUCAS (married Abraham Lucas), MARTHA J. DEAN (married Lewis
Dean), and RUTH R. ADKINS (married Joseph Adkins).

I hereby nominate and appoint William O'Bannon and Lewis Dean my Executors.
Signed, sealed and acknowledged by me, Samuel Beall, BRYANT O'BANNON, Mary
Meredith, subscribing witnesses this 18th day of November 1853.
