Hazel Wallace

Hazel L. Wallace, 85, Wyandotte, OK, passed into eternal rest at 4:22 PM, August 11, 2008 at Integris Baptist Hospital in Miami, OK after an illness.

Hazel Lucille Long was born June 10, 1923 the daughter of Cody and Clara Long. She was a homemaker, a charter member of the United Methodist Church in Wyandotte, Tops 600 in Seneca, the Red Hat Society and the United Methodist Women. Hazel was the Faith Keeper for the Seneca Cayuga Indian Tribe.

Hazel married Leonard Wallace August 16, 1938 and he preceded her in death October 10, 1984.

Survivors include three sons, Norman Wallace, Grantville, KS, Jack Wallace and wife Glenda, Tulsa, OK and Richard Wallace and wife Ruby, Wyandotte, OK; three daughters, Grace Lockner, Clara Wallace and June Wallace all of Wyandotte, OK; two brothers, Tommy Whitetree and wife Julie, Miami, OK and Terry Whitetree and wife Molly, Tulsa, OK; three sisters, Margaret Dunning, Grove, OK, Sally Leaf and husband Patrick, Grove and Lenora Sparks and husband Gordon, Wyandotte, OK; Aunts, Amanda Grenback, Miami and Jo Cata, Miami, OK; Brother-in-laws and Sister-in-laws, Ernest and Gladys Wallace, Wyandotte, Gene Lane, Goodman, Robert Lockner, Tulsa, OK and Jeanie Thompson, Miami, OK; 21 grandchildren; 61 great grandchildren and 18 great great-grandchildren.

Hazel was preceded in death by brothers, James WhiteEagle, Gordon Whitetree, Jerry Whitetree, Clifton Rex Whitetree; sisters Christina Stanger and Mary Lind; great-grandchildren, Brett Wencil and Hope Bell.

Funeral services under the personal direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home Seneca,MO will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, August 14, 2008 at the United Methodist Church in Wyandotte with Rev. Gary Moody and Don Bates officiating. Burial will be in the Basset Grove Cemetery with Morris Wallace, Mark Wallace, Mike Wallace, Tommy McDade Jr., Jack All (AJ) Hart and Bryan Dale Wencil. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jacob VanBethusen, Steven Vanbenthusen, Christopher (Bear) Schmidt, Terry Wallace, Bill Wallace, Roger Wallace, Chris Lee Stanger, Craig Stanger and Michael Lockner.

The body will lie in state at the home. Friends may call on the family at the family home south of Wyandotte.
