Kenneth Yarbrough Sr.

Kenneth Lee Yarbrough Sr., age 53, Joplin, MO passed away at 9 a.m. Friday, July 11, 2003 at his home after a sudden illness.

Mr. Yarbrough was born Dec. 5, 1949 in Corona, Calif. and had lived in the Joplin,MO area since 1977 moving from Riverside, Calif. He was a United States Army veteran of the Vietnam War, serving with the 173rd Airborne Division. He served with the National Guard from 1980 to 1990 in the 203rd Engineer Battalion; and was honored with the National Defense Service Medal and Vietnam Campaign Medal. He worked as a foreman at Bagcraft, Inc. for 13 years; and was a member of Faith Tabernacle.

Survivors include a daughter, Teresa Yarbrough, Joplin; a son, Jonathan Yarbrough, Joplin; his father, Rev. Pat Yarbrough, Joplin; his mother, Jean (Bailes) Yarbrough, Ada, Okla.; two sisters, Tonna Sulier and Twyla Johnson, both of Joplin; and three grandchildren, Emily Yarbrough, Zachary Cusick and Dakota Yarbrough.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his son, Kenneth Lee Yarbrough II.

Services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Parker Mortuary Chapel. John Lukey, minister, will officiate. Interment will follow at Osborne Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Parker Mortuary Chapel. Pallbearers will be Mike Graham, Al Johnson, Bob Cagle, Jonathan Yarbrough, Tom Smith and Scott Cusick.
