KERR, DAVID B. - age 84, of Knoxville died November 24, 2008 at home. Mr. Kerr graduated from Knoxville High School and the University of Tennessee. At Knoxville High School in 1941, he was voted All Southern in football. In 1942, he played freshman football for the University of Tennessee until he went into the U.S. Army Air Force, where he served as a B-24 bomber pilot in the Pacific Theatre as a member of the 13th Air Force during World War II. Preceded in death by parents, Bess and Warren Kerr; brother, Charles Kerr; and first wife, Fannie Broughton Kerr. He is survived by his wife, Donna D. Kerr; children, Katherine F. Kerr, Cynthia A. Fralin and Warren B. Kerr; step-children, Melissa McAdams, Matthew Gallivan and Kristin Tornow; grandchildren, Emory Daubman, Harry Hamilton and Julie Kate Hamilton; great grandchild, David Carter Daubman; step-grandchildren, William Youngk, Madeline McAdams, Andrew Gallivan, William Gallivan, David Tornow and Ryan Tornow. Interment will !
be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Friday at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel.
