MAXINE McKIM 85, of Irving, Texas, formerly of Paris, died at 7:45 AM, Friday, March 20, 2009 in Irving. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM, Monday, March 23, 2009 in the chapel of Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Joyce officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:00-4:00 PM, Sunday afternoon at the funeral home. Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. McKim was born January 9, 1924 to Jim and Edith Eva Ratcliff Brown in Fred, Texas. She married Major Miller "Mac" McKim on July 6, 1943 in Woodville, Texas. He died April 18, 1984. Maxine was first and foremost a homemaker, but after her family was grown, she worked for Bealls Department Store and later for Wal-Mart. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Paris.

Mrs. McKim is survived by a daughter, Linda Leathers and husband, Ron of Irving; a son, Kenneth W. McKim and wife, Julie of Highlands, North Carolina; 15 grandchildren: Suzett Leathers Oppenheimer and husband, Jonathan, Tracy Leathers and wife, Dotty, Melisa McKim, Melody McKim Walls and husband, Winston, Ken McKim, Keith McKim and wife, Kirsten, Mindy McKim and husband, Edward, Molly McKim, Kyle McKim and wife, Caroline, Meg McKim, Millie Kate McKim Schlautman and husband, Stephen, Kade McKim, Kirk McKim, Kase McKim and Klayt McKim; 22 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Robert Allen Cowart of Colsmaneil, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents; 8 brothers and sisters; and one grandchild.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
