Hi Patricia,

My GGGrandfather was Matthew O'Dea born in Youghal, Co Cork in Nov 1838 or 1839. I have so far not found any other O'Deas from Youghal.

His father was a Patrick O'Dea, date and place of birth unknown, possibly Co Clare.

My Matthew also had a son born in 1881, my ggrandfather's twin, but he was born in India and Died in ww1 in Persia with the British Army.

It is possible there is a connection via Patrick, given the similarity of names and location. Contact me off list if you want more details I would be happy to supply them.
