Jan Fortado writes me that she has learned that several Gallagher brothers came
down with O'Donnell in 1601 to help at the Battle of Kinsale. Instead of
returning to Donegal, they stayed in Cork.

Does anyone know of sources which may list any Gallaghers in the Battle of
Kinsale? This being the anniversary of the battle coming up, it would be
interesting.
