Archbishop Is Dead
Most Rev.William Henry Elder Passes Away Peacefully
Cincinatti,Oct 31-Most Rev.William Henry Elder,archbishop of Cincinatti,died
at 11:50 o'clock tonight in his 86th year.He had suffered four days from a
severe case fo the grippe,complicated with extreme weakness.The scene at the
bedisde ,when it was apparent the end was near,was most affecting.The
archbishop was cojnscious and his last words were this prayer,in a very feeble
voice:
"Holy Mary,Mother of God,pray for us sinners now at the hour of death.amen"
He then kissed a crucifix,and with a peaceful smile on his face,breathed his
last.
