Here are the "information as of " dates for all census from 1820 to 1920.

1790 through 1820: 1st Monday in August
1830 through 1900: 1st of June
1910: 15th of April
1920: 1st of January
1930: 1st of April

time of year this was done because it was one of two things that he was put
in infirmary for and both were life-threatening, especially at that time.
One, he had an attack of acute appendicitis, but unknown when. If this
census was done in summer, that would have been the year. If, on the other
hand, the census was done in winter, it would tell me what year he had a
really bad bout of pneumonia. Geeez, always more questions than answers, as
usual! Thank you so much for the information, I deeply appreciate it.
