Hi Cheri,
There is a John M. Glenn showing up in the 1840 index for Hamilton county but
there are only males in the household. Miami Twp. is on the western side
of the county where the Cleves area would be located.
Here's the information, but since the family members names weren't listed
it's hard to tell if this would be him and I don't know where the wife and
daughters would be.

There is nothing showing up for McGlinn / McGlynn or Glinn/ Glynn in
Cuyahoga county. Have you found them in 1850 where family members names are
listed in the census?
