Hi Dan,

I checked the 1830 index at ancestry.com but didn't have any success finding
Daniel.

The only GREW listed was a Hannah GREW in Ross County and a Joseph
W. GREW in Adams County. There were no listings for the GRUE spelling.
The Soundex index turned up the surnames GRAY, GEER and GEAR but no
Daniel.

As a last resort I tried an all state search but only turned up a Jonathan
GRUE in New York . For the GREW spelling I found some in Indiana,
Illinois, Connecticut, Arkansas, South Carolina, Virginia, Vermont,
Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, and Pennsylvania.

If Daniel was NOT the Head of Household and he and his wife were living with
another family or with their parents, he would not be found in the index,
since only the HOH was listed in 1830.

I'm sorry I couldn't be more help.
