Some volunteers may have access to a "book index", but I
wouldn't know about that. I also have seen at Genealogy.com
that they have 1910 indexed - but only for head-of-household.
They DO have ages in that index; so if you know the age,
you could possibly find the correct person -- it is possible to
look through that alphabetical listing for the surname. But, it
can be time-consuming!! I would definitely ask for a 1910 Census
look-up (if you haven't already). Maybe it will be more possible
to find them in that year than in 1900 -- no ages given in that
index (which is the year I usually work on).

Sometimes on other later years when I make a request the
volunteer sometimes comes back telling me the person was
not on the index. So I assumed they had an index they were
using and wanted to know if there was one for 1910 they use
for the whole of the US. or for the whole state. ruth
