Hi Jack, Normally finding a child in 1850 without a parents name is
extremely difficult. For example there were over 350 Powell listings in the
state of OH but you had a county and it appears he inherited his first name
from a grandpa-relationships are not listed-so this is an assumption on my
part. Here is the info you requested; any place that has a ?-not sure.
1850, OH, Adams Co, Meigs twp, pg 32, taken Oct 5;
John Powel (that's how they are listed in the index and on the actual
census), head, age 36, farmer, $500, b. OH;
Altapola? (see note at bottom), age 26 or 36, b. OH;
Overall, age 9, b. OH, attends school;
Mary, age 7, b. OH, attends school;
J. W., male, age 4, b. OH;
Wm, age 2, b. OH;
Wesley Parter, age 23, school teacher, b. OH;
end of this household.
Next door;
Overall Powel, head, age 58, farmer, $1000, b. VA, person over 21 who cannot
read or write;
Clina or China??, age 84?, female, b. VA;
Albert, age 25, farmer, b. OH;
end of this household.

Note; IF you don't have them on the 1860 or 1870-here is where you can find
them. You can repost to the list if you want a reading giving the spelling
and references as listed below since that is how they are indexed;
1860, Adams Co, Meigs twp, Heritage Quest pg # is 220, three households
right next to each other so you can request these 3 at one time- households
are listed as O. Powell, age 68, b. VA; G. W. Powell, age 47, b. OH; and
John Powell age 45, b. OH; (John's wife is listed as Altazana on this one);

1870 - John Powall , age 36, b. OH is on pg 114 and Overall S. Powall, age
79, b. VA, is on pg 115 in Adams Co, Meigs twp; (John's wife is listed as
Alta Zona on this one and note they have regressed in age-they are 36 and
30). These two can be requested in one email since John's family is on the
botton of pg 114 and cont on top of 115 and Overall is next door. The
younger Overall is not with them in this census.
