Hi Kerm, I looked for him in 1880 census and it looks like he and his
family are in Ashland Co, Troy twp so maybe your answer is there since they
were still there in 1900. Here is the 1880;
1880, OH, Ashland Co, Troy twp, pg 230B, Ed 93;
George Schukers, head, white, male, age 69, I think it has farmer for
occupation, b. PA, father b. PA, mother -I couldn't make it out;
Elisabeth, wife, age 65, keeping house, b. PA, father b. PA, mother - I
couldn't make it out;
William, son, age 26, b. OH, parents b. PA, same occupation as father;
Ruby, dau in law, age 17, keeping house, b. NY, father b. OH, mother b. NY;
end of this household.
It's strange, but on the census, the census taker marked marr. for George
and Elisabeth but nothing is marked for William and Ruby, but she is listed
as a dau in law to George.
If this is your William, I would suggest you join the Ashland Co rootsweb
list and see if anyone has a marr index or knows who you could contact about
marriage info. The same would hold true for births-perhaps if they had
children, it would show up in a birth registation-it wasn't mandatory until
something like 1908 or 1909 but a lot of the counties started recording
them around 1867. Rose
