Had absolutely no luck finding any Melissa COL* in any state born Ohio. I did find the entry in 1870 in Michigan and noticed a Thomas & Sophronia COLLAR as a next family. So I went back and looked for Thomas & Sophronia, thinking maybe they are her parents.

So maybe your Melissa is Mary M?? Melissa being her middle name or vice versa. Lots of my ancestors use their first or sometimes just their middle names in censuses.
