I apologize for any confusion re my request for Civil War info of ancestor Daniel Myers. I should have specified that he and wife Barbara are listed in the 1860 Ohio census, MT. Vernon, Knox County, OH. Unfortunately, the census taker wrote his initial D. instead of his given name Daniel, which made him harder to find! Daniel is listed age 40, Farmer.

Before 1870, he moved to Shawnee Twp., Allen County, OH., where he is listed in the 1870 census. (his wife Barbara died 1867 & he remarried - Mary A.). He remained in Allen Co., until his death in 1904.

I have been trying to check as many sources as I can to determine if in fact ggggrandfather Daniel Myers served in the Civil War. I was told by other family members he enlisted in the 81st. Regiment as a Musician...,that was proved incorrect when a kind soul recently informed me the Daniel Myers that was in the 81st., had filed for Pension in INDIANA in 1890! This also answers my question as to why a farmer at his age would enlist as a musician!! So far my searches show No evidence of "my" Daniel Myers having been in the military.
Thank you for your time and effort in my quest to find some answers.....will continue searching for his parents names.
