Otis,
You are on the right track. The Cleveland Necrology File is an index to
early Cleveland cemetery records and newspaper death notices arranged
alphabetically and by designated time periods, essentially from <1850-1950,
1950-1975, 1975-current. Very early notices may appear only as deceased
name, date of burial, and cemetery and later notices may include actual
obituary or index to same.

Hi,
Kid of new to this and not up on terminology. What exactly are Necrology
List records and what information would be contained? Suspect it may
have something to do with the coroner? For what reason would an
individual have records in the necrology fies and what info is needed to
obstain such records?
thanks,
Otis (in Florida)
