Irish flutist who performed throughout Midwest died 30 May 2001
in Lakewood, Ohio. "Byrne, a native of County Sligo, Ireland,
arrived in Cleveland in 1948."

He could not read music, but "could quickly grasp a tune after
hearing it only a few times." On weekends, performed at "feis".
