My attempts to reconstruct this family have hit a bit of a snag.

I have a known son, Michael F. Murphy, born 11/20/1869, who marries a Lillian v. Muldoon in 1896. Their children are John S., Marie, Dorothy, George I., Arthur J., Lillian R., and the twins, William and Walter.

George Murphy and Mary Lavelle also had a son named Martin Murphy born 10/24/1871.

Though there are many Michael and Martin Murphys about, I think I may have isolated these two but I need help in confirming a connection.

I also found a George Murphy and Mary (Unknown) who had the following children and marriages in their family:

(Unknown) Murphy - Sister Mary Apollonia of the Ursaline Order

John S. Murphy - Catholic priest

Michael Murphy - thought to be the Michael F. above

Martin J. Murphy - married Mary Elizabeth Elwarner

Peter A. Murphy - married Olga J. Nunn

Elizabeth Murphy - married Bernard J. O'Reilly

Agnes M. Murphy - married Joseph W. Chase

What I am really trying to confirm is that the Michael F. Murphy who marries Lillian V. Muldoon is indeed the sibling of Sister Apollonia, Fr. John S. Murphy and the others listed in the second family above. This would add several other siblings to Michael and further define the data on his known brother, Martin.

Can anyone out there help me on this?
