Has anyone dealt with St. Malachi directly about marriage records?
What information did they keep? (that we can access)
I've got four sisters, (one my great-great-grandmother MORAN) who all
married at St. Malachi -- 1871, 1873, 1883 and 1895. (I have full dates).
Would there be a record of their mother's maiden name? Or the sisters'
birth cities (most in New York -- somewhere!)
I live right here in Cleveland -- can I just walk in to St. Malachi? Write?
to the Parish? to the Diocese?
Thanks for your help. My 3rd cousin in Denmark (the McMANAMON marriage) has
given me assignments now (and don't we all need good genealogy partners to
keep us on track?)
Regards,
Karen
P.S. And yes -- the first meeting of two WALSH 3rd cousins went well --
just too short. Adrienne even looks like some of my first cousins. And she
brought pictures of my grandmother's cousins. Ahhh. We had a nice visit,
and got pictures at St. John's Cemetery. She's got some 1st and 2nd cousins
here who will help search for more tombstones, so I'll get to meet some more
"family".
