Shelly --

Sure, but the Irish are all related!

We've got a McGovern-McDermott and McDermott/-King connections.

Alex McDermott married Nora McGovern -- probably in Westport, County Mayo,
Ireland -- prior to 1835.

Their son, John McDermott, born 1835, Westport, Mayo, Ireland married my
great-great-aunt Ellen KING, born 1836 (maybe County Cork, maybe Mayo).
They both died in Ida Grove, Iowa. John McDermott in 1924, Ellen King
McDermott in 1922.

And Great-Great-Aunt Ellen KING McDermott's sister -- Catherine KING --
married a McGovern. About whom we know -- nothing! Yet.

Regards,

Karen

I am anxious for the St Malachi's answers asked by Karen. My
GG-grandfather,
Martin McGovern (wife Mary Moran) were married in Ireland, but I believe
some of their children were married at St Malachi's in the 1860-1870"s.

Thanks for the info!

Shelly
