DONA KIMG (KING)

COMMITS SUICIDE AT HIS OLD HOME

Anthony King committed suicide Thursday evening by taking carbolic acid
and laudanum. The family lived in Berea for many years, but two years ago
moved to the city, and later Mr. King's mind wandered and he has for some
time been an inmate of the Newburg Asylum. Last Sunday he was discharged
from that Institution and on Monday went to Elyria, and later came to Berea.
In the afternoon he visited his old home, now occupied by Arthur Gray, and
entered the wood shed. Acting mysteriously, Mrs. Gray, becoming alarmed,
notified the neighbors, Gustav Kindler and Wm. Otter, who investigated and
found King in the attic. He was alive, but unconscious. Two empty bottles,
labeled carbolic acid and laudanum, were lying beside him. Drs. Coates and
Perry were called but when they arrived it was too late to save his life.
The body was taken to Eckert's morgue, and Coroner Seigelstein notified. He
leaves a wife and two sons, Crowley and Clyde, aged respectively 19 and 17
years.
