Obit from the Akron Beacon Journal dated Sat. Jan. 15 1916 pg. 13:

AGED KENT MAN IS CALLED BY DEATH
KENT, Jan 15- John (Wesley) COFFEEN father of F.A. COFFEEN, Kent lumber
dealer, aged 88, passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J.(John)
HALL, Kenmore, at 2 o'clock Friday morning. COFFEEN had been ailing for
some time but had not been really critically ill until several days ago. He
went to the home of his daughter before Thanksgiving.
E.O. CARLIN, local undertaker, went to Kenmore Friday to bring the body
to the COFFEEN home just west of this city from whose home the funeral will
be held Sunday at 2 o'clock. Rev. W.W. DIETERICH will officiate and
interment will be made at Standing Rock cemetery.
The deceased is survived by three sons, J.W. jr., W.J. COFFEEN of
Milford, Oregon, and F.A. COFFEEN of Kent. He is also survived by three
sisters, Mrs. Samuel TAPLIN, Gilette Pa., Mrs. John HALL, Kenmore, and Mrs.
Mary PRICE, Milford, Oregon.
