Donald J. "Donnie" Dickerhoof Donald J. "Donnie" Dickerhoof, 70, of Ravenna,
died Saturday, Aug. 12, 2000, at home. Born June 12, 1930 in Amsterdam,
Ohio, he was the son of Chancey and Hattie (Haights) Dickerhoof. He was a
Ravenna resident for most of his life. Mr. Dickerhoof worked at the Ravenna
Arsenal, then in construction trades, building area bridges, before retiring
from Horning Builders and Supply Co. of Kent in 1992. He served in the U.S.
Army at the end of World War II. He was a member of Kent American Legion
Post No. 496, Kent Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 3703, Ravenna Moose
Lodge No. 1234 and Teamsters Local No. 24 of Akron. Survivors include his
wife, Betty (Miskel), to whom he was married 22 years; son, Mark (Sheryl) of
Ravenna; daughter, Robin Dean of Deerfield; stepson, Thomas Pettit Jr.
(Cindy) of Columbus, Ohio; stepdaughters, Mrs. Keith (Drenda) Wilcox of
Ravenna, Jane Stone of Ravenna, Susan Stone of Akron, Mrs. Joe (Darlene)
Flores of Fort Wayne, Ind., Mrs. Chip (Linda) Scott of Hawaii; three
grandchildren; 16 stepgrandchildren; one great-grandchild; 15 step
great-grandchildren. His son,Terrence; brothers, Glenwood and Robert; and
sisters, Mrs. Graham (Dorothy) Sheppard and Mrs. Joe (Pearl) Gardener, died
previously. Calling hours will be held from 6 to 9 tonight at Wood-Kortright
Funeral Home, Ravenna Chapel, where services will be held at 1 p.m.
Wednesday. Burial will be in Hawley Cemetery in Paris.
