Wilma B. Baker
Wilma B. Baker, 99, of Gnadenhutten died at 8:55 a.m. Saturday,
Oct. 12, 2002, in Twin City Hospital at Dennison, O.
She was born June 3, 1903, in Cadiz Junction, O., a daughter of
the late Frank Arthur Liggett and Nora Dell Penn Liggett. In 1922, she
married George M. Baker, now deceased.
She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Carol Baker, of the home;
two grandsons, Rick and Melissa Baker of Bolivar and Charlie and Kathy
Baker of Austin, Texas; one granddaughter, Mrs. Barry (Christy) Walker of
Gnadenhutten; 10 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren; a
sister, Mary Ong of Dennison; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Arthur Liggett; her
mother, Nora Dell Liggett; her husband, George M. Baker; a son, Charles F.
Baker; a granddaughter, Shirley I. Baker; brothers, Percy Ray. Harry Doyle,
Bert Penn, George ôSkeetö Wayne, Frank Arthur and William McDonald Liggett;
also two sisters, Edith Marie Liggett and Winifred Irene Krebs.
She was a life resident of this area and attended the First
Assembly of God at New Philadelphia. She enjoyed making beaded necklaces
and ornaments and loved crocheting. Wilma had worked at the Scio Pottery
for 25 years and had been a loving wife, mother and homemaker totally
devoted to her family.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2002,
in R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home at Dennison, O., with Pastor Larry Fletcher
officiating. Burial will be in Ridgecrest Memory Gardens at Dover. Calling
hours are from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday (today), Oct. 14, 2002, in R.K. Lindsey
Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Assembly of God at New
Philadelphia.
