Jul 2 Sa Working in harvest this forenoon, at Newcomerstown
and got 80 lbs of sugar this afternoon
Jul 3 Su I was at home all day except I went to hear Nichols
preach at 2 1/2 oclock
Jul 4 M I was at Newcomerstown to a celebration, I heard J.
Snead, A. McCurdy, F. Hinds & Jesse Suitt speak
Jul 5 Tu I was in my harvest.
Jul 6 W I was in my harvest, J. Lovett, Abe Miskimens & John
Mullvean helped me
Jul 7 Th I finished my harvest today noon & we went & helped
G.M. Hedge finish his this afternoon
Jul 8 F We were in our corn
Jul 9 Sa We were in our corn, I went to Newcomerstown this
afternoon etc.
Jul 10 Su It is a raining this morning, I went to Wolf's
Jul 11 M We were a working in the corn.
Jul 12 Tu I went to Evansburgh this forenoon after Violet's and
George's tombstones. I was a hauling wheat this
afternoon.

Jul 15 F The same, I had 596 doz of wheat this year
Jul 16 Sa I went to Newcomerstown, we laid our corn by

Jul 18 M I was a mowing at G. Aunspaugh's for myself
Jul 19 Tu I was a stacking wheat. I joined the Free Masons.
Hannah Bates and Betts Mullvean was here.
Jul 20 W Finished hauling wheat, I was a mowing
Jul 21 Th I was a mowing and putting up hay

Jul 23 Sa We finished making hay. I was at Newcomerstown this
afternoon.
Jul 24 Su Father & Mother Mitchell came here this morning &
went home this evening.
Jul 25 M I was out at J. Rhoads this forenoon & at
Newcomerstown this afternoon.
Jul 26 Tu Liz & Ricky was here. Sears preaches at Wills Creek
on the first and third Sabbath of every month.
Jul 27 W We commenced cutting brush and cradling oats
Jul 28 Th We were a cutting brush.
Jul 29 F I was a cutting brush this forenoon and a hauling
oats this afternoon.
Jul 30 Sa It rained, I was at Newcomerstown
Jul 31 Su I was at home all day. Catharine Gardner was here.
Aug 1 M We were a clearing. Mike Ferrell left here this
morning.

Aug 5 F I was at Newcomerstown to a show, Dan Rice's

threshing at home this afternoon.

Aug 13 Sa We were a helping Mullveans thresh today. I was at
Newcomerstownn & Orange this afternoon. One year ago
today George M. Fletcher died.
Aug 14 Su I was at home all day. G.H. Mitchell was here.
Aug 15 M We were a cleaning wheat.
Aug 16 Tu We were a cleaning wheat.
Aug 17 W The same
Aug 18 Th Finished cleaning wheat, I hauled it to Evansburgh &
sold it to C.F. Davis for 97 cents per bushel, we had
391 1/2 bushels.
Aug 19 F I was a doing nothing much, getting seeds, etc.
Aug 20 Sa Hannah Bates & Aunt Suse & Cate Tufford was here.
Aug 21 Su I went out to Mitchells this morning.
Aug 22 M and came home this evening
Aug 23 Tu We were a helping Wolfs thresh.
Aug 24 W Helping Wolfs thresh.
Aug 25 Th Hauling out manure at G. Aunspaugh's. I lent C.F.
Davis $265
Aug 26 F I took a load of melons to Newcomerstown, etc.
Aug 27 Sa Doing nothing much
Aug 28 Su I was at home all day.
Aug 29 M Doing nothing, not very well. Borrowed fifty dollars
of Sarah Anne Mullvean.
Aug 30 Tu I was at Coshocton
Aug 31 W I was at Newcomerstown
Sep 1 Th I was at Orange & got five hundred dollars in gold of
C.F. Davis. I borrowed one hundred & fifty from S.A.
Mullvean at seven percent.
Sep 2 F I was this morning out at Wm Reddick's to get him to
help me cut up corn.
Sep 3 Sa Mother & I started to go out to Mitchell's but we
turned back on the account of it raining.
Sep 4 Su Craig Henderson and his wife was here, etc.
Sep 5 M I was at Newcomerstown
Sep 6 Tu I was a building a peach kill.
Sep 7 W I was at Kee's sale and bought a sow and pigs
Sep 8 Th I was at Wolf's
Sep 9 F I was a working on the roads. G.H. Mitchell was here.
Sep 10 Sa I was a working the roads this forenoon. I went to
Newcomerstown this afternoon & got that $100 dollars
of Nugen & got $73 of Wolfs.
Sep 11 Su I was out to G.W. Phillips. I got $30.33 in gold of
him.
Sep 12 M We commenced cutting corn.
Sep 13 Tu We were a cutting corn. Lou Mitchell had a beau, Mr.
Caster.
Sep 14 W It rained all day.
Sep 15 Th Nothing important
Sep 16 F We commenced sowing wheat this afternoon in the new
of the moon one day before it changes, sowed 2 lands
in the bottom.
Sep 17 Sa Sowed two lands more, the moon fulled this morning
Sep 18 Su I was out at Mitchells, Margaret Mitchell came home
with me.
Sep 19 M We were a cutting corn this forenoon, it rained at
noon.
Sep 20 Tu I was at Aaron Hedge's burial in Newcomerstown
Sep 21 W Cuttin corn today
Sep 22 Th I was at Newcomerstown
Sep 23 F Started for Illinois, went to Zanesille, stayed all
night
Sep 24 Sa Took the cars at Zanesville, went to Urbanna, there
took the hack & went to Bellfountaine all day
Sep 25 Su At Bellfountaine all day
Sep 26 M Took the cars this evening at 3PM & went to
Indianapolis, got there at 10 at night
Sep 27 Tu Took the cars this morning at 6 1/2 o clock for
Lafayette, got there at 11 1/2 AM, stayed there til
7, took the packet for Delphi, arrived there at 12 night,
stayed there until morning
Sep 28 W Went to Eb's, took dinner then went to George's this
afternoon; stayed at George's until the third of Oct
