ANOTHER SOLDIER SUMMONED
Death claimed another Adams county soldier, Wm. Spurgeon, of Co. F, 43d
Reg.
O. V. I. He has answered the roll call on high. Born April 7, 1839.
Departed this life Oct. 25, 1911. Age, 72 years, 6 months and 18 days.
Was
married to Mary Ann Ames on March 3d, 1860. Children are Spencer, William,
Susie, Ryan, John, and Joseph, all present at the funeral except Spencer,
who
preceded his father to the world beyond a short time ago. Mrs. Spurgeon
being an invalid and not able to go to the church. The funeral was held at
the home, conducted by J. A. R. Couser. Interment at Mayhill.
