George Foster, the most notorious burglar, highwayman and bank thief of Ohio, and for many years the leader of the "Foster gang," whose operations extended over Ohio, Indiana, Michigan and Pennsylvania, was shot and killed on Tuesday night at Cleveland by an officer after a desperate struggle. He escaped from the Ohio Penitentiary last October, and since then had not been seen until he turned up in Cleveland.
