John German, an old resident of Lebanon township, near Bashan, died recently.
Thirty-four business houses in Pomeroy and Middleport are lighted by the
incandescent electric system. This is in addition to those lighted by the arc
system.
M. H. Watkins, Surveyor of Meigs county, and Miss Amanda E. Weldon of
Racine, were married at the old Weldon homestead in Racine, Tuesday evening of
last
week.
Recently Major J. B. Downing, of Middleport, exhibited his fine bird dog
"Chief" at the Cincinnati Kennel Club's Bench show, and the dog took first
premium. Before removal from the show the animal was sold to the Agent of the
Milwaukee Kennel Club for $600.
