Dave:
Yes, I know Ft Ben is a thing of the past. The Administratives Schools for
the army used to be there.
I had, they still are, a couple of friends who were Lieutenants in Germany
that were Battalion Commanders at Leonard Wood when my son was going through
basic training there. I had not seen one of them in years and when we went
to see my son graduate, Colonel White was the Commander of Troops for the
parade.
I have been back many many times as I used to inspect and buy surplus
Defense Department supplies and equipment on a consultancy basis and had to
inspect and arrange for shipping material that was won and bought in the
bidding process.
I'm sure that many people had a favorite nickname for Fort Leonard Wood but
I never heard that particular one.
