Hi Mike...... thanks for answering my query. My Childers-Childres-Childress were in the same areas as your Henry. My line is John Childers (b. abt 1797 VA) who married Katherine Shields (daughter of Isaac). Most of their lives were in Preble Co., Ohio. My John Childers father has not been proved, but I do believe the father is Thomas Childers, a baptist minister from VA, lived in Butler, Preble, Darke, Miami Counties, Ohio. It is possible that your 4g grandfather (Henry Childress/Childers who married Jane) could be a brother of Thomas.
I don't know if you have the below Will, I photocopied it when I went to Preble, Darke and Miami Co. for a research trip. It does not name all his children, just his two young children.
If you have any information on where your Childers/Childress were from before coming to Ohio, I would be so interested.
For years I have gathered Childers data in this area of Ohio hoping to solve my puzzle.
Thanks...... Marysue
