a friend of mine is writing a book about the Home Street Railroad and is

Dayton?
i think what i'm remembering from Sidney must have been in the middle 1950's?
so how late do any of you guys (and dolls) think you were still getting coal
delivered to your houses?
I remember my aunt getting delivery around 1957, it was exciting to us when
they came out and opened the window then started the coal going down the
chute. I thought it was neat since my parents did not get it. I have often
thought of the furniture my aunt had in that house and how expensive it would be to
buy those things now, she had such neat stuff there. I was talking with her
a few months ago and told her how I always loved her furniture and wished I
had it now, she started laughing and said she wished she had it then. Turns
out that she was very poor and did not even own her own furniture, she was
renting the place furnished so it was the oldest cheapest stuff and a sign of
poverty and here I had been thinking she must have had money to have such nice
stuff. We forget that the most sought after antiques were at one time just
cast off junk. Sure wish I had a bit of that junk now.
