'siyo [Greetings],

A "whole parcel" of folks attended the Wood County Chapter, Ohio
Genealogy Society meeting Tuesday, 24 June 2008, held at the New
Bellville Ridge Cemetery, near Dowling, Wood County, Ohio. It appeared
that those attending enjoyed the meeting. There was also an opportunity
to explore the "Old" Bellville Cemetery which was owned by the Townships
of Webster, Middleton and Perrysburg, and is located in Webster
Township. The Cemetery is now owned and maintained by the Webster
Township Trusties.

Those attending, noting that there are no Known burials in Old Bellville
Cemetery for more than a hundred years, noticed that for a "full"
cemetery needing expansion in 1888 there were many spaces without
tombstones. This is a problem for those who have relatives of those
buried there and the researchers looking for relatives.

Each and every cemetery deserves an 'istorian. The Wood County Chapter,
OGS is now searching for thosse who are willing to undertake the
research needed to write a history for each cemetery. Also, included,
is the development of an open-ended file of historical information and
its occupants.

Nearly every Wood County cemetery needs and deserves a historian.
Anyone willing to adopt or just work on a cemetery for these purposes
should contact the Chapter Office at . Please put
"Cemetery Project" in your subject line. And, please "sign" your
note/letter with your name and how you would like to be reached.

Marie Snyder has volunteered for Ft. Meigs Cemetery
Gene Gilsdorf has volunteered for Lake Township Cemetery
Bill Oliver has volunteered for Old Bellville Cemetery

Wado [Thank you],
