Hi gang!
I've spent the afternoon poking around all over the internet.....looking for
anything about those early settlers coming down the Ohio on their fragile
flatboats....and pulling off along the way.....liking what they saw and
deciding to settle there! I didn't find much. Guess I'm looking in the
wrong places. What have any of you folks found on this subject?? Web
pages/books/whatever!

But wait, the River was not the only "way in" to Adams County. How about
Zanes Trace??

How did YOUR ancestors end up in Adams?? ...and even more interesting...WHY
did they choose Adams Co.??

ps...I could also use some help on when Adams became Adams....and when Brown
became Brown. I've misplaced my favorite Dollarhide map book!
