Hi Delsey,
I want to personally thank you again, for getting me started on my family
research, even tho my husband wishes I haden't!! (grin). My mother only had
that my great grandfather , John Collier, was born in OH, in her family
records. From a diary I was given he had visited Portsmouth, & Vanceburg,
KY, in 1909/1911 from there I put a message out for a census lookup, and
low and behold you came back with my John Collier, only his name was John
Ames in the census. Thru more research I found he was an illegimate child
of an AMES, female. Still haven't gotten her name yet. She died young and
my great great great grandfather & grandmother raised my great grandfather.
So I'm missing a great great grandmother and someday would sure like to
find her. Anyway thanks so much for getting me started in my family search!
I see your name on here quite a bit, helping different people, and I'm
hoping you can help me. I'm planning a trip to Adams Co come Aug, and
would really like to visit the Adams Co, Historical Society there, but my
problem is, I'm just not sure what day I will be there, this is my first
time driving that way by myself. Will they open the Historical Sociey
other than on Thurs and Saturday? If I could call ahead as to see how my
driving is going to be time wise? I also want to visit some cemeteries in
the area and see where Daniel Collier's house once stood. And of course
the Court house!
Thanks so much for any help you can give.
