I have a Samuel W. Black who married Loucinda A. Humpherys 27 Nov 1870.
Can anyone give me additional info on Loucinda's parents or on Samuel's?
Samuel's parents were either Zachariah Black and Elizabeth Hildebrand or
John Black and Mary Piatt. Both family's had a son named Samuel Black
born about the same time. I know that John and Mary's son's middle name
started with a W. I'm not sure if Zachariah and Elizabeth's son's middle
name started with a W. or not. David Tracy Jones in his book
Jones-Easter-Black-Foster shows Zachariah's son Sam marrying Lu
Humphrey, but he also lacked any info on John 's wife Mary or his son
Samuel W. Black. I'm not sure which one married her and I'm afraid I
might have the kids a bit messed up too. Are any of you familiar with
either of these families and able to throw me a hand? In the 1880 Census
I've found Samuel and Lucinda's family, and I found a Samuel and Elvira
that MIGHT be the other Samuel Black (whichever is which) but I'm not
sure. In the 1850 census both Samuel's were still at home (Tiffin and
Meigs townships). Some 1860 and 1870 Census info would help
(particularly the 1870). Any help would be appreciated.
